Feb 02, Jacque rated it liked it. I had high hopes for Ellul’s work, but I was not terribly impressed with this essay. My favorite aspect of the book is how he shows that, to Jesus, human authority was nothing. This is why I maintain that no state in the modern world is legitimate.
